I spent much of my career as a General Counsel and senior executive inside fast-growing businesses, and I joined The Legal Director because I believe deeply in the strength of its model. Senior, commercially minded GCs working alongside leadership teams, close to the business and genuinely invested in its success. As CEO, I lead TLD’s strategic direction and work to ensure our community of experienced lawyers can do their best work: building trusted, long-term client relationships and delivering meaningful value. My background spans financial services, publishing and insurance, and I bring a data-driven, people-first approach to everything we do.
As co-owner and COO of The Legal Director, I oversee our operational capability, recruitment and partnership programme, as well as helping to shape and deliver the TLD approach to service. Before joining TLD in 2009, I spent over a decade as General Counsel at Madge Networks, helping build the business into a NASDAQ-listed global success story with over 7,000 employees and a turnover of $750m. I’m a passionate advocate for women in law and for the fractional model, which gives experienced lawyers the flexibility to build interesting, varied careers while delivering real value to clients.
I work with businesses and legal teams at moments that matter: when a team needs to work smarter using data, AI and legal technology; when a GC needs a peer to share the load; or when a growing business needs experienced GC-level support without a full-time hire. I bring more than 30 years of experience across regulated multinationals and high-growth businesses, most recently as General Counsel for Vodafone Business, where I led a global legal, regulatory and compliance team across Europe, the US, Africa and Asia. My particular focus at TLD is supporting technology businesses.
I bring over 20 years of in-house legal experience across a wide range of sectors and business sizes, from large FTSE-listed multinationals to smaller businesses where I have been the sole legal counsel. I have also worked as a partner at a major UK and US law firm, where I built and led a flexible resource service for in-house lawyers. At TLD, I provide fractional GC support to ambitious SMEs across sectors including retail, manufacturing, engineering and financial services, bringing the kind of experienced, practical legal leadership that growing businesses need but rarely have access to.
